Outgrowing Reviewing the Kanji

RevtK is an unparalleled resource. The shear number of shared stories make it invaluable for RtK users. Also, the forums are one of the greatest sources of information on language learning you will ever find. These are the aspects of RevtK you will never ‘outgrow’.

However, if you have gone through Remembering the Kanji or have used Reviewing the Kanji you should have noticed several limitations.

There are mistakes relating to Primitives (ie. 天 and 夭), wrong kanji usage (ie. 町 and 村), and choices of Keywords that have little or no correlation to the meaning. These are also relatively insignificant.

But, on the other hand …

Reason to switch to Anki for reviewing:

• Control over organization
• Control over review order
• Control over changing/adding Keywords
• Support of images, audio, and video in the Q/A fields
• Ability to review sentences/facts/vocab with one program
• Ability to record audio
• Ability to batch import/export any choice of fields
• Availability of iAnki for the iPhone/iTouch

For these reasons I highly recommend migrating to Anki.
