ABOUT THE SITE
This website is one of two sites that developed out of my old WordPress blog. My original posts were about awesomeness, randomness, cookery, and studying Japanese. As time went on I moved my blog to a paid hosting service and removed everything except posts on learning Japanese. I continued to develop my Japanese learning methods and continued to publishes them. Sometime later, two things happened: (1) I realized that OLiSPIELS.com was not the best name for a Japanese language learning website; (2) I missed the awesomeness.
After that, I created NiHONGOCENTRAL.com for learning Japanese, and redesigned OLiSPIELS.com.
NiHONGOCENTRAL is a guide for achieving fluency in the Japanese language.
- If you are interested in learning Japanese, read on.
- If you want to, but are not able to take a Japanese class, read on.
- If you have taken Japanese classes and think they suck, read on.
- If you live in Japan and want to improve your Japanese, read on.
- If you want to prove that learning Japanese is not impossible, read on.
- If you want to become fluent in all aspects of Japanese read on.
- If you are bored and need something to do, try OLiSPIELS.
ABOUT THE GOAL OF THE SITE
This site was created with one single purpose of achieving fluency in every aspect of the Japanese language. By following my guide (almost) any English speaker will go from zero-Japanese to fluency in 2-3 years. When I say “fluent,” I mean Level 3 on the ILR Scale.
Let me be clear, these methods were not created by me. I merely applied them in a systematic way to produce the best results.
ABOUT THE METHOD
There are dozens of study methods (including: books, video, audio cds, dvds, and classes) for learning Japanese, and ALL of them work. That’s correct, every method that you can buy, borrow, or steal will teach you “some” Japanese. But…
- how effective are these methods?
- how long do they take?
- how many classes do they require?
- how much do they everything cost?
Ask yourself, have you ever met a non-native person who learned to speak, read, and write Japanese by taking classes. I have not! Every Japanese-language student I have ever met was not even close to what I would consider functionally fluent.
Out of the hundreds of Japanese-language students that I have met, I met one person who became some-what fluent by taking classes. His name was Allan, and he began studying Japanese in High School and Majored in Japanese at UC Berkley for 4.5 years. (UC Berkley has one of the best Japanese programs in the US)
Check out Method Overview for details
Disclaimer: No one can learn Japanese for you. You will not wake up one day and be fluent. Anything worth having takes work. With this site as your guide (and a lot of work) you will become fluent.
